Course Level: Difficult

St Andrews, Fife, Scotland

New Course at St Andrews Links

Par 71 • 6,683 Yards

The oldest 'new' course in the world, the second course at the Home of Golf was built by the Keeper of the Green, Tom Morris in 1895 and it was imaginatively named to differentiate from its famous neighbour. Boasting undulating fairways and challenging greens, the New Course is a classic test of links golf.

Year Opened

1895

Old Tom Morris

Fescue & Poa Annua

Playing Tips For Hole #1

Treat the opener as a position par 4, not an automatic driver hole. Finish short of the mound guarding the green and favor the left side of the fairway, which provides the clearest view along the green.

New by name. Timeless by nature.
